MR. JENNY: Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to
welcome you to the world premiere of “The Saga of Merger Remedies,” a
Barry Hawk production, filled, as you will see, with excitement and
tension and uncertainties and sometimes happy endings, all this for the
benefit of a sickly consumer that never appears as a character on the scene.
I am afraid to report that the show that you are about to watch today
does not yet have a name. When we were thinking about what to call it, of
course obvious ideas came to our mind – “Godfather Phase I,” and the
sequel, “Godfather Phase II,” but we worried about getting into trouble
with another film. Another bright idea that was proposed, which for the
same reason had to be abandoned, was to call it “The Full Monti.”
When, preparing for this debate, I quickly realized that merger
remedies is one of those topics which has tempted Hollywood filmmakers
for quite a while, although none of them has ever made a feature film
about it. So this is really the first feature film on merger remedies.
